Books
Reading books is my hobby. It’s a bug I caught from my parents, who are both voracious readers. I can say that I am a bibliophile or commonly known as a “bookworm”. Reading a book makes me feel tranquil and peaceful. It is like listening to music that makes you feel relaxed. I prefer fictional books rather than non-fiction or biographical. Many of the books published today are fictitious stories. They are in-part or in their entirety, untrue or based on the author’s fantasy. Fiction books often take me to different worlds and realms right inside my very own room. They allow me to explore the further recess of my imaginative mind. I like imagining things as it sometimes allows me to escape into a world entirely different from the present, create your own characters, and your own story for that matter. Probably someday, as I mature, may be I would find to love non-fiction books. But for now, I would love to continue having fun with fiction books as it allows me to express my creativity. Whenever I read, it’s like I’m also there, in that particular place or situation. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone started my interest in reading fictional books. It was given by my aunt as a birthday gift. Reading it was like being in a different world – a new world to be exact. Unusual characters, like a man with two faces; new plots and new settings. I’ve read all the Harry Potter series, which for me are still the best written fiction books for young adults like me. I’ve also finished reading The Chronicles of Narnia, which is about the Pevensies and the world of Narnia. Aslan is a talking lion, which in the real world cannot happen. After reading Da Vinci’s Code and Angels and Demons, a big question is ringing in my head, is it real? Or just mere fiction? Now, I am reading the 2nd book of the 4-series “Septimus Heap”, which is entitled The Flyte. The first book is Magyk. The title says it all, it is about magic.
