Television has the potential to unite communities, provide information to allow positive cultural, social and environmental change, and to create a true global Village.There are plenty of channels with different topics. It provides every kind of information and entertainment like films, shows, documentaries, science programs, cartoons and so on. You can watch the newest information of what is happening around the world and it helps you to be up-to-date. Sometimes it is very convenient. Watching television can also be a great way to spend a free time. I suggest that if you want to travel to different countries but do not have enough money, therefore you can enjoy traveling in the TV virtually by watching documentaries channels like the National Geographic and Discovery one.In addition to that, they’re screened twenty- four hours a day.
From the other hand, there are also many disadvantages of watching television. Wasting time is one of the inherent disadvantage of watching TV. Consequently spending time with family, reading a book,studying ,exercising or even playing are merely done. Also Television programme are not always suitable for all ages. Sometimes, there are some movies that contain sexual material and violence which children,teenagers and even some adults should not be watching. Violence on television seems to be effecting our feelings of safety within the community. There is some evidence to suggest that the level of violence in television programs, films, news, may have led to an increase in fear that society is more dangerous than is actually the case.
