The Admired One

The ‘admired one’

{2nd Year High School task Write a short an essay about ‘A person whom I admire or respect’}.

Firstly for a person to be attributed the qualities of, admiration and respect, from someone’s viewpoint, usually means that he or she has accomplished something considered to be exceptional to the norm and above the accomplishments of the person in admiration. I will refer to this exceptional person from here as the ‘admired one’.

Such are these exceptional accomplishments that for many they serve as ‘role model’ and provide the motivation for these people to exceed their own concept of their personal limitations. For other admirers, the admired one remains an enigma of what they would like to have been able to achieve. Either way in most cases they provide a positive energy, consisting of self-sacrifice, endurance, commitment, caring and sometime love. It is equally fair to mention that negative people who achieve are also admired by persons of the same ilk, unfortunately to the disadvantage of others.

The areas in which admirable people exist for me include, certain fashion designers, in sports or especially extreme sports and certain dancing techniques, it is the athleticism that promotes this response in me. While I am not a techo-buff I must admire the people behind the technology that make our homes, appliances and leisure...
