Abortion 4

From the very early beginnings of civilization, most of the people saw pregnancy as a gift from god and the new born child as a blessing. Very rare were the people who had no wish to have children and they were considered as outcast of the society. This is probably due to many factors. First of all people tended to be far more religious during the past times than now, second many people were illiterate, third women were supposed to stay home and be successful housewives and good mothers, and fourth, but not last, people were dying at an early age, so they had to reproduce, in order for the population to survive. Today the case is quite different than few centuries ago. A considerable larger percentage of people are literate than few centuries ago, even though women do not enjoy the exactly same rights as men in the society they do have them at least on paper, and last the earth is getting overpopulated so giving birth is not a need anymore. So, the issue is divided among two groups of people the Pro life, those who oppose abortion, and the pro choice the ones that fight for the rights of women and who favor choice.
