3 Day Luxury Sacrifice

Day One (12/15/08)
I decided to sacrifice my phone for three days. At first, I was a bit apprehensive about not using my phone for three whole days, but I realized I don’t really need it to survive. I wanted to use my phone and I couldn’t stop thinking about it all day. After school, when I was waiting for my mom, I looked for it then remembered it was at home, and since I couldn’t find my mom right when I got out, I panicked for a little bit. I have always been so dependent on my phone that when I decided to sacrifice it for the project, I thought I couldn’t do it.
Day Two (12/16/08)
Today, I realized I actually don’t need my phone at all. I can use the computer, Facebook, to communicate with friends, and I even feel better because I have learned to depend on other things too. Today was completely fine, although I did miss my phone when leaving school again.
Day Three (12/17/08)
Today was a very good day for me. I didn’t miss my phone at all, and I think I could even go like this for the rest of the year. I feel liberated from so much technology, and I like that I’m not always connected to everyone. I like that at night, instead of having my phone under my pillow, I get to actually relax because my phone can’t go off. Although, tomorrow I will go back to the old cycle of being obsessed with my phone, oh well. It was a great experience, and I would do it again, but only if I had to. ☺
