1940S Comparing To 1960S
in this essay I am going to demonstrate how two decades (1940’s and 1960’s)can have many similarities yet still hold very different aspects.
music in the 1940s;the top 5 chart entries were Glenn Miller-In the mood, Artie Shaw-Frenesi, Bing Crosby-Only forever, Tommy Dorsey-Ill Never Smile Again, Cliff Edwards-when you wish upon a star. in the 1960’s the top 5 chart entries were Elvis Presley-it now or never, Elvis Presley-are you lonesome tonight?,Cubbychecker-The twist, The drifters-save the last dance for me, Johnny Preston-running bear.in comparison the music genres are very different in the aspects of how the decades were changed from the war to a decade that was more based around fashion and youth, the 1940s it was more based around rock and jazz. romance and sad emotive music also played a keen role because it was influenced by world war 2! there was a lot of romance due to men leaving for war, although music with the soldiers would be sad, especially as they sent bands over sea to sing for the men. Where as the 1940s did not due to the war.
